Managing Director, Co-Head Real Assets

Michael is a Managing Director and Co-Head of Real Assets and has over 21 years of alternative investment experience. He leads the global real assets business, overseeing due diligence for primary, secondary, and co-investment opportunities. Michael also works with global investors focused on real assets, directing strategic portfolio construction, management, and providing customized investment decisions.

Prior to joining Aksia in 2024, Michael was the Global Head of Real Assets at Mercer Investments, where he led a global team of over 30 investment professionals. As Global Head, Michael led the firm’s real asset investment activities, ranging from investment due diligence, portfolio management, and industry research within the real estate, infrastructure, natural resources, and other real asset segments. Before that, he was a Managing Director at Cambridge Associates, where he helped lead the firm’s Real Assets Investment Group. He also chaired Cambridge’s real assets investment committee. Prior to that, he was an Investment Associate at Franklin Park and a research analyst at Halcyon Asset Management, a special situations hedge fund. Michael started his career with capital markets-oriented roles at Moody’s and Reuters LPC.

Michael graduated from Boston University School of Management with a BS in Finance and holds an MBA in Finance and Strategic Management from Villanova University Graduate School of Business.
